The papers of Leland Harrison were given to the Library of Congress by his wife, Anne Harrison, in 1952.
The papers of Leland Harrison were arranged and described by Manuscript Division staff in 1952. At that time, brackets were used in the finding aid to indicate titles or parts of titles devised by the archivist. The finding aid was revised in 2013. Katherine Duvall further revised and converted the finding aid to EAD in 2022. Physical arrangement was not disturbed, despite some files being out of order, and is reflected in the container list.
Copyright in the unpublished writings of Leland Harrison in these papers and in other collections of papers in the custody of the Library of Congress has been dedicated to the public.
Some photographs have been transferred to the Prints and Photographs Division where they are identified as part of the Leland Harrison Papers. Patrons are encouraged to contact the Prints and Photographs Division in advance of a research visit.
The papers of Leland Harrison are open to research. Many collections are stored off-site and advance notice is needed to retrieve these items for research use. Researchers are advised to contact the Manuscript Reading Room prior to visiting.
