Provenance
The papers of F. Lamson-Scribner, botanist, exhibits specialist, and
educator, were transferred to the Library of Congress from the Department of
Agriculture Library in 1953.
Processing History
A container list of the Lamson-Scribner Papers was created in 2005.
The finding aid was revised in 2012.
Transfers
Glass plate negatives have been transferred to the Prints and
Photographs Division where they are identified as part of these papers.

Scope and Content Note
The papers of Frank Lamson-Scribner (1851-1938) span the years
1885-1938 and consist of correspondence, letterpress books, memoranda and
notes, reports, scrapbooks, printed matter, and photographs primarily
concerning Lamson-Scribner's exhibit work in the Department of Agriculture. The
collection includes material on exhibits he helped prepare for the Exposição
do Centenario do Brasil (1922-1923), Philadelphia Sesqui-Centennial
International Exposition (1926), and Chicago Century of Progress International
Exposition (1933-1934). Also included is material concerning his service as
chief of the Philippines Bureau of Agriculture in the Philippines (1901-1904).
