The papers of George Ware Barber (1890-1948) span the years 1926-1948 and document his work as an entomologist at the Department of Agriculture. Barber's work in studying and controlling the corn borer and corn earworm was of vital importance to the corn industry and earned him a meritorious promotion and citation from the Department of Agriculture. The papers include correspondence, special reports pertaining to earworm insecticide investigations, notes, study data, manuscripts, and miscellaneous reports, the bulk of which are concerned with the European corn borer and corn earworm. Correspondents include F. F. Dicke and C. M. Packard.
