The papers of Rebekah Crawford, educator and social worker, and Linda
Clarke-Smith, archaeologist and volunteer nurse, were given to the Library of
Congress by Crawford in 1928-1929 and by her estate in 1934. Although the
majority of the papers belonged to Rebekah Crawford, she asked that the
collection be referred to as the "Rebekah Crawford and Linda Clarke-Smith
Collection" to honor the relief work of Linda Clarke-Smith, her niece.
Processing History
The papers of Rebekah Crawford and Linda Clarke-Smith were arranged
and described in 1985. The finding aid was expanded and revised in 2011.
