The General Foods Corporation Radio Script Collection (1932-1949) was given to the Library of Congress in 1956 by the General Foods Corporation. The Motion Picture, Broadcasting and Recorded Sound Division retained the sound recordings but transferred the scripts to the Manuscript Division in 1990.

The General Foods Corporation Radio Script Collection spans the years 1932-1949 and consists of scripts of radio series sponsored by the General Foods Corporation. Included are such popular shows as "The Adventures of Topper," "The Adventures of the Thin Man," and "Portia Faces Life." None of the scripts provides a complete run for a storyline.
Scripts for some of the episodes include typed and handwritten drafts and are annotated to show timing or speech emphases. Accompanying each script are commercials for the sponsoring products, such as Baker's Chocolate, Gaines Dog Food, Maxwell House Coffee, Post Raisin Bran, and Post Toasties. Occasionally included are production records, such as cast lists, plot synopses, sound effects, music clearances, rehearsal timing sheets, and the script editing circuit.
