Scope and Content Note
The papers of Earle Hill Kincaid (1894-1961) span the years 1917-1972
with the bulk of the material dating from 1934 to 1945. They pertain to
Kincaid’s career as an officer in the United States Navy and consist of
personal and official correspondence and other records relating to his military
service. The collection focuses on Kincaid’s tours of duty with the Asiatic
Fleet in China and the Philippines in the 1930s, at the United States Naval
Training Station in Newport, Rhode Island, in the early 1940s, and in Oceania
in World War II. Copies of two articles by Kincaid regarding static research
and atmospheric pressure document his work in meteorology in the 1920s.
