Summary

  • A young mountain girl falls in love with a faithless lowlander, who loves her and leaves her. Her angry, over-protective brother follows the man to town and attempts to force him to marry the girl, but is mocked and ridiculed. He becomes enraged and kills the man. A posse is formed, and the brother is tracked to his home. His mother, realizing that they intend to hang her son, shoots him herself. The daughter, the cause of all the tragedy, leaves home with her former beau, a simple mountain boy who still loves her. The family honor is preserved.
