Notes

  • -  Interview with Beatriz Meza, an attorney.
  • -  Summary of audio segment: TC raises issue of immigration work, and the workshops. BM says she's always been very active, and interested in giving something back to the community. So they had a brainstorming session among all the partners, talking about how to get clients into the firm. And they decided to go out into the communities and let them know the firm is now doing immigration law. And they wanted to set up dates, get maybe 20 people in a room and we would go and give a lecture on immigration. And they started it and it was very effective. Again, there is that fear of authority, but sit in a group and hear with what the attorneys have to say, and they can contact you later if they want to. Did those sessions in Paterson and Passaic, and have gone as far as Wallington, to reach the Polish community. Communities in new York heard about them, and invited them to go. But it was difficult, went once and had a small turnout, etc. But are still doing the programs.
